witnessed baptism
Witnessed the baptism ceremony of my grandmother at this XXX church. The whole family went to give her our moral support.
Very common, on my many visits to the church by invitation from friends, the fellowers will promote their religion to the "new-comers" on special days like this. Althought Im a Buddhist, I will show respect to their religion by sitting in one corner listening to what they have to say. Same goes to my dad on his first visit to church.
But...
Me and my dad were pissed by the actions and behaviour of some people there today.
They have this small group of people walking around passing info to those non Christian visitors.
They approached us, as my grandmother told them we were not christians. Then, their so called "propaganda" begins. They kept telling us the pros of believing in Lord. We were quietly listening as it will be bad to turn them off. Out of a sudden, they asked us to convert!
"Can you convert to our religion then?", my dad joked.
"Oh we can't le. But you all still can ma." they replied.
And this is very insulting to me as well as my dad. What do they exactly mean by that reply? We still can? What do they think our religion are? Come if you believe in us and go if you don't like?
I always respect the religion of others as much as mine, but do others practice this as well? I'm not being bais towards any religion here but i must say there is a handful of people like this here. I got really good christian buddies and we respect each other. I hope this kind of things won't ever happen again.
The baptism ceremony is interesting.
I apologise if i had offended those who read this post.
