He is so good at this. She is so good at that. Why can't I be like them?
Envy is the word.
We always look at what others have that we don't. Never satisfied with what we are, and never too greedy to ask for more.

Was on a casual conversation with Reuben when he talked about how he envy his elder brother. I pondered on this afterthat.

I do envy others as well. Nothing wrong with getting envious of someone.
I do envy Reuben for his music talent...
Kenny for his wits...
...and many things in others which I lacked.

But too much of these will lead to self discrimination. You think you are inferior and hence living in the shadows of the superior. Everything you do/have must be like the envied or better than him.

I will call these people the clones or copycats. I am I and you is you.
Be yourself and live with esteem. Everyone has got a limit to what they can have and afford to have/do.

Nevertheless, envying can spark our determination to advance and self development.

And after plenty of time spent pondering on this. I wondered if Im superior or inferior. What do others envy me of?
